Director of Toxicology   [20.Sep.2005]

A global animal health company is looking for a Director of Toxicology to assist the Director of Research in the conduct of studies including the design, supervision, and evaluations of these studies in accordance with government regulations, company policy and Sponsor’s requirements. Assist in the Director of Research to coordinate the work of Study Directors and Senior Scientists.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise activities and personnel connected with in vivo studies.
  • Plan, in conjunction with Sponsors, Director of Research, consultants and research staff, the design of studies.
  • Evaluate the results of studies, discuss with staff, and make recommendations in final reports.
  • Assist the Director of Research with the selection of personnel.
  • Engage in basic research at a level consistent with company policy.
  • Act as a consultant, with the consent of the Director of Research.
  • Assist the Director of Research and the Director of Operations in budget and personnel projections, long term planning, investments, equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate data generated from studies contracted to outside laboratories. Select consulting laboratories.
  • Confirm initial observations of effects in animals and distinguish between spontaneous and agent-induced effects.
  • May perform marketing and client service activities.
  • Other planning/budgetary activities for department

Qualifications:

  • Education:  Ph.D, D.A.B.T.
  • Experience:  15 years related experience in (industry/area/discipline).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure:  D.A.B.T.

Product / Brand Manager - Pet Products - Northeast US   [20.Sep.2005]

A leading manufacturer and marketer of quality pet products, is currently seeking a results oriented marketing professionals to help execute our aggressive growth initiatives.
The Product / Brand Manager will be responsible for managing an existing business and formulating and executing new products. The Manager will interface on a daily basis with Research & Development, Packaging, Operations, Forecasting, Sales and Marketing teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop & execute market strategies
  • Manage day to day activities associated with product line/s.
  • Develop and launch new products
  • Establish/implement pricing strategies & promotional programs
  • Analyze markets & sales trends
  • Help manage multi-functional business teams

POSITION REQUIRES:

  • 4-6 years of related experience in a classic over the counter consumer products goods company
  • Proven product management in a consumer packaged goods environment
  • An understanding of Rx to OTC switches and/or experience with pets are significant pluses
  • Experience distributing products through traditional channels (including grocery, mass and drug); specialty retail channel experience a plus.
  • Ability to implement brand strategies for new and existing product lines
  • Understanding of market research analysis tools and techniques
  • Maintaining category P&L
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills

Professional Services Veterinarian - northern California   [20.Sep.2005]

We have an opportunity for a veterinarian to work for a leading Animal Health pharmaceutical company in Northern California. In this role you will address technical issues regarding products by responding to veterinarians, consumers and employee inquiries in a timely manner. In addition you will promote the company name and products at the veterinary schools with the help of student representatives, to improve market position. You will promote the company name and products to the veterinary profession and pet owners by calling on specialists and key influencers, public speaking engagements and through broadcast and electronic media to maintain the company's professional image. You will train and update sales representatives on technical aspects of products and provide technical support for clients to maintain the company's professional image. In addition you will develop and monitor post approval marketing trials to provide information that would assist in marketing the company's products. Other responsibilities include formulating responses to technical challenges that arise, develop and conduct technical presentations to a variety of audiences and participating in developmental projects including but not limited to launch team participation, internet site maintenance and coordination of veterinary school programs. Requires 75% overnight travel, overtime and weekend work is also required.

Qualifications include:

  • a DVM,
  • 3+ years of experience in private small animal veterinary practice
  • Knowledge of PC package tools: including word-processing (Word) and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Project Leader - Pharmaceuticals - northeast US   [20.Sep.2005]

We are looking for a Project-Leader to be responsible for successfully managing and coordinating all phases of product development for therapeutic and productivity enhancer pharmaceuticals in livestock and / or therapeutic pharmaceuticals in companion animals in order to obtain approval of products by FDA/CVM.  Participates in local and international projects to provide product development expertise in terms of FDA/CVM requirements.  Advises and assists Clinical Development and Drug Safety with designing and performing pre-clinical and clinical studies that are conducted in the US as part of local or global projects. In addition, the Project Leader counsels the department and management on scientific issues pertaining to his/her area of expertise.

Qualifications:

  • DVM and/or Master of Science, PhD, or equivalent degree in animal science, veterinary science, or related fields
  • 2+ years experience in animal reserach, including design and management of pharmaceutical product development programs
  • Proven ability in scientific writing
  • Effectively communicate with technical AND lay persons
  • Proven team leader
  • Ability to travel 25-40%
